Become a member
A large number of construction industry professionals working in Finland belong to the Finnish Construction Trade Union. Members of the Finnish Construction Trade Union include
- building construction employees (e.g. carpenters, construction workers, and bricklayers)
- asphalting industry employees
- infrastructure industry employees (e.g. excavator operators and vehicle-mounted crane operators)
- flooring industry employees
- painting industry employees
- construction product industry employees (e.g. joiners and concrete finishers)
- building services industry employees (e.g. plumbers and air conditioning engineers)
- waterproofing industry employees.
The easiest way to join the union is the digital membership form. You can fill out the form in Finnish, English or Swedish.
What do you get as a member?
Representing employees’ interests on site is an important part of what we do. The Finnish Construction Trade Union negotiates collective agreements with employer unions to agree on the minimum terms for work in construction industries.
As a member, you’ll also be able to
- receive support and assistance from your shop steward and union officials if you have any problems.
- use our career services (the Duunimylly employment exchange service, the Palkkamylly wage payment service, and the Taitomylly training service)
- participate in training and events organised by the Finnish Construction Trade Union
- become a member of the A-kassa unemployment fund
- receive all kinds of membership benefits with a monetary value.
Membership fee
Membership of the Finnish Construction Trade Union costs €25 per month. You can pay the membership fee
- using a monthly invoice or e-invoice
- using the Finnish Construction Trade Union’s eAsiointi digital service
- by agreeing with your employer to deduct the membership fee from your wages.
