New collective agreements for construction workers

The Board of the Finnish Construction Trade Union approved collective agreements for the construction industry in a meeting on 9 May. Wage increases are aligned. The agreement period is three years, from 1 March 2025 to 29 February 2028, and the final year of the agreement can be terminated from 28 February 2027 with a term of notice of two months.

Wage increases in 2025

Wages will increase by a 2.5% general increase on 1 September 2025 or from the beginning of the nearest pay period starting thereafter. Any incomplete piecework and collective agreement-specific piece rates will increase by 2.5%. Collective agreements’ monetary allowances and separate compensations for personnel representatives will also increase by 2.5%.

Wages will increase by a 2.9% general increase on 1 June 2026 or from the beginning of the nearest pay period starting thereafter. Any incomplete piecework and collective agreement-specific piece rates will increase by 2.9%.  Collective agreements’ monetary allowances and separate compensations for personnel representatives will increase by 2.9%.

Wage increases in 2027

In 2027, wages will increase by a 2.4% general increase on 1 June 2027 or from the beginning of the nearest pay period starting thereafter. Any incomplete piecework and collective agreement-specific piece rates will increase by 2.4%.  Collective agreements’ monetary allowances and separate compensations for personnel representatives will increase by 2.4%.

Text amendments that apply to all construction industry agreements

The employer shall cover the cost of the loss of income arising from attending a prostate cancer screening appointment if the collective agreement requirements are met.

The employer must pay 16 days of paternity leave rather than the previous 6 days. This requirement shall apply to parental leave taken for children born or adopted on or after 15 May 2025.
